The Angel Card decks are designed by local artists, with a portion of all proceeds going to the artist’s charity of choice. The Llama and Peacock cards were designed by New River artist Donna Rice.
Donna is an artist who is all about color. She started with watercolors when she was very young, then moved on to acrylics and finally tackled oils in her early twenties. She studied briefly under American artist Grace Groupe Pillar who is best known for her large-scale public mural works. She recognized a bold style emerging in Donna’s work and encouraged her to continue to paint intuitively.
Many of Donna’s paintings are influenced by her life spent living on a boat traveling the east coast and the Florida Keys, as well as her present life in the Arizona deserts. Donna is a featured artist at The Artist Den in Rock Springs, AZ and shows her work at The Women’s Wellness Center in Cave Creek, AZ. Donna’s work can be found at Society 6 Doniart and on Instagram @doni_art_az.
Her charity of choice is Verterans for Veterans (vetsforvetsaz.org), a Phoenix based veteran run organization which supplies good quality donated furniture and household items to formerly homeless veterans and assist with transitional living to help as they reenter society.
