Spring Cleansing – How to Smudge

The act of using white sage to cleanse spaces has been used by Native Americans and other cultures to shift energy in any space. The scientific community has also done studies and is in alignment with what the native peoples have known for centuries. The use of “smudging” or “saging” is a useful technique to shift energy, remove those “stuck” feelings, reduce stress, tension and anxiety. It can help you sleep better and even improve the way you think! 

Besides using the act of smudging to cleanse the feelings from a space it also literally purifies the air. Sage is full of antimicrobials, it can remove up to 94% of bacteria in the air without chemical sprays.

When and how often should I cleanse?
It is recommended to clear both inside and outside of your spaces at least four times a year. However, you don’t need to wait that long if there is illness, disharmony or a cluttered room you would like to purify. There are no hard or fast rules as to when, it is really up to you and how your space feels!
